Guide to Soothing and Putting Your Baby to Sleep
Falling Asleep Together
One of the most peaceful ways to put your baby to sleep is to gently rock them together. Especially:
- A rocking chair
- A gently moving hammock
Such methods create a relaxing environment for both parent and baby. A baby in a parent's arms not only feels the rhythm of the rocking but also the sense of closeness, warmth, and security.
Additionally, a Pilates ball (Pezzi ball) can be used to gently rock the baby. However, there is an important point to note here:
Movements should not be in the form of bouncing.
Instead, slow, circular movements made with the hips should be preferred.
Every Baby is Different
It is a fact that babies enjoy gentle rocking. However, you need to discover which method is best for your baby through trial and error.
Some babies:
- Are soothed by a baby wrap
- Fall asleep more easily in a hammock
- Are calmed by car rides
Therefore, the most important guide for parents should be: their own instincts (parental intuition).
Gently rocking the baby helps them remember the safe environment of the womb. When applied with the right method, it both facilitates the baby's transition to sleep and strengthens the bond between parent and baby.
Remember:
Every baby is special. The best method is the one you and your baby discover together.
